The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, a global company celebrated as the leading destination for short-form mobile video. TikTok is actively expanding its footprint in the commerce industry, aiming to redefine shopping by making its platform the primary channel for merchants, creators, and affiliates. This role offers an intern the unique opportunity to gain professional experience by directly contributing to the TikTok Shop’s evolution. By serving as a crucial link between operational insights and product development, this position helps refine product features, optimize user experiences, and ensure the continuous improvement of TikTok’s e-commerce ecosystem, playing a key part in the company’s mission to bring discovery and joy back to shopping.

• Mission: Optimize the TikTok Shop user experience and streamline internal workflows by connecting operational insights with product improvements and development.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Bridge Workflow Gaps: Act as a crucial liaison between the Operations and Product teams to identify existing workflow inefficiencies, enhance the overall product experience, and actively support the iterative refinement of product features and processes.
• Analyze Operational Data: Conduct in-depth analysis of operational data to uncover meaningful insights, accurately diagnose underlying product issues, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.
• Refine Product Solutions: Collaborate closely with the product team to articulate and refine product requirements, improve critical user journeys, and contribute to the design of robust and scalable product solutions.
• Influence Prioritization: Actively participate in strategic prioritization discussions by synthesizing and consolidating essential feedback gathered from operations, direct user interactions, and various cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ensure Smooth Delivery: Support seamless cross-team communication across diverse regions and time zones, ensuring the smooth progression and successful delivery of product development cycles, thorough testing, official launches, and continuous post-launch optimization efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently a student pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or another closely related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated capabilities in logical thinking and robust data analytics, including the ability to dissect complex problems and formulate practical, actionable solutions. Proven proficiency in communication, organizational skills, and project execution, showcasing a proactive, responsible approach to independently driving tasks to completion. Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-regional teams, specifically engaging with APAC stakeholders across varying time zones.
• Skills: Strong logical thinking, advanced data analytics, clear communication, exceptional organizational abilities, efficient project execution, and fluency in both Chinese and English to facilitate interactions with stakeholders in Greater China markets.
• Bonus: Previous relevant experience in areas such as product operations, product management, data analysis, or working with ads/search/recommendation systems, whether through prior internships or academic projects.
