Project Consultant, OSINT Forensics and Investigations | Deloitte

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Deloitte, contributing to the firm’s Regulatory, Risk & Forensic team. The team helps client leaders manage complex risks and evolving regulatory landscapes, transforming them into strong, defensible actions. This position plays a critical role in leveraging advanced data, AI, and emerging technologies to provide clarity and accelerate value for clients, specifically by supporting federal law enforcement investigations with Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and forensic analysis.

• Team: Part of the Government & Public Services (GPS) practice, within the Regulatory, Risk & Forensic team, specifically the Forensic, Discovery, & Financial Crime offering.
• Mission: Support federal law enforcement investigations through open source and commercial data research and intelligence analysis to illuminate networks and identify leads.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Support federal law enforcement investigations through comprehensive open source and commercial data research.
• Analyze: Collect, analyze, and synthesize publicly available information to identify relevant actors, networks, trends, and digital traces.
• Produce: Create clear, defensible intelligence products, including intelligence notes, reports, and briefing materials, validating sources and documenting analytical confidence.
• Support: Provide timely research, rapid-turn analysis, and ad hoc support to investigators.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legal, privacy, and policy requirements throughout the investigation process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience conducting open source research or investigations and producing analytical products or reporting.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience correlating data to build timelines, link charts, and entity profiles, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a required security clearance.
• Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Bonus: Experience with investigative workflows and sensitive information handling, supporting federal law enforcement or national security missions, or using digital footprint analysis, social media research, or visualization tools.
