This is a part-time adjunct position within the Department of Psychology & Counseling at Northeastern State University, specifically located at its Broken Arrow campus for face-to-face instruction. The department, housed in the College of Education, is a significant academic unit boasting twenty-three full-time faculty members and a diverse group of professional educators. This role is crucial for delivering specialized, graduate-level education in Professionalism & Ethics, directly impacting the foundational training and career readiness of students within the counseling program. What You’ll Actually Do
• Graduate Instruction in Core Competencies: Deliver comprehensive and engaging graduate courses specifically focused on the critical areas of Professionalism & Ethics, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of ethical guidelines and professional standards within the counseling field.
• Curriculum and Material Development: Take responsibility for creating and refining all necessary course materials for assigned curricula. This includes designing syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with learning objectives and departmental standards for graduate-level education in counseling.
• Classroom Teaching and Engagement: Conduct assigned courses effectively in a face-to-face classroom environment on the Broken Arrow campus. This involves fostering an interactive learning atmosphere, facilitating discussions, guiding practical exercises, and providing constructive feedback to graduate students.
• Technology Integration for Enhanced Learning: Proactively incorporate and utilize appropriate educational technology tools and platforms into all aspects of course delivery. This ensures that face-to-face classes are modern, engaging, and leverage technological advancements to support student learning and administrative tasks.
• Departmental Instructional Support: Be available and prepared to teach additional graduate courses within the broader counseling program. This will be determined by departmental needs, offering opportunities to contribute to other areas of the curriculum and support the diverse educational goals of the department.

The Must-Haves
• Educational and Licensure Foundation: Possess a robust academic and/or licensure background, specifically one of the following: a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision, a PhD or PsyD in Psychology, or a Master’s degree in Counseling combined with an LPC-S License.
• Professional and Ethical Expertise: Demonstrate profound expertise in the principles, theories, and practical applications of professionalism and ethics relevant to the counseling profession. This includes the ability to effectively teach these specialized topics at a graduate academic level.
• Pedagogical and Technological Acuity: Exhibit strong pedagogical skills, encompassing the ability to design compelling course content, manage a graduate classroom effectively, and provide clear, impactful instruction. Furthermore, proficiency in integrating various technologies to enhance face-to-face course delivery and student engagement is essential.
• Bonus Qualification (Preferred Experience): While not strictly required, previous experience specifically teaching counseling courses at the graduate academic level is a highly preferred qualification. Candidates with this background will be given preference, as it indicates a proven track record in similar educational settings.
