About the Job: Martin Marietta Production Internship
The Martin Marietta Production Internship is a key investment in our future leaders, designed to identify and develop top talent for challenging and rewarding careers. Many of our most valuable company leaders began their journey as interns, underscoring the program’s significance.
Reporting directly to a Plant Manager, the Production Intern will participate in an approximately 10-week program focused on learning the Aggregates business and developing essential production and leadership skills. The primary goal of this internship is to provide individuals with comprehensive hands-on experience in the Aggregates mining industry.
Critical Activities
As a Production Intern, you will be involved in a range of essential operations, including:
• Adhering to and enforcing prescribed ethical, safety and environmental measures.
• Operating and maintaining various plant equipment, such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and heavy off-road equipment.
• Assisting in the blasting process, which includes laying out drill patterns and loading shots.
• Becoming intimately familiar with the operations of an Aggregate Mine, gaining a full understanding of the complete production process.
• Familiarizing yourself with the traits and practices of high-performing managers within Martin Marietta.
• Ensuring all activities align with the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and comply with the Company’s policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
Qualifications And Skills
To be considered for this internship, candidates should meet the following requirements:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Prior full-time experience is not required.
• Must possess the ability to learn technical processes.
• Demonstrates high-level verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
