Job Description:

This is an in-person internship role primarily focused on production support.

Location:
The internship is based at Markarian’s production office in the Garment District of New York City.

Purpose:
This internship is offered for school credit and/or practical experience.

Responsibilities:
• Perform quality control on garments to ensure the highest standards are consistently met.
• Assist in maintaining the functionality and organization of the office space.
• Aid in the organization and management of fabric inventory.
• Provide support for sourcing efforts related to fabric and trim.
• Contribute to the creation and ongoing maintenance of production fabric/trim books.
• Assist in conducting sample fittings to ensure proper fit and alignment with design specifications.

Requirements:
• Prior fashion experience is preferred.
• Ability to commit for 2 days a week.
• Familiarity with the Garment District and its resources is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, multi-task, and exhibit strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in hand sewing techniques.
• Solid knowledge of garment construction techniques.
• Fluency in Mandarin or Korean is considered a bonus.
• Must be able to receive school credit for the internship.
