Product Information Intern | COMSOL, Inc.
The Tone:
This is an in-office internship at COMSOL, Inc., located in Burlington, MA. COMSOL is a leading innovator that develops multiphysics software to advance research and development for challenging science and engineering problems. This role is crucial for ensuring that users can effectively learn COMSOL Multiphysics software by providing clear, accurate, and reliable step-by-step tutorials. The work contributes directly to the quality and accessibility of the company’s core product documentation.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal/Temporary (June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026, up to 29 hours/week)
• Location: In-person, Burlington, MA
• Pay: $20 hourly
• Team: Product Information Department, collaborating with technical writers, subject matter experts, and Development teams
• Mission: Enhance the clarity, consistency, technical accuracy, and usability of COMSOL Multiphysics software tutorials.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Proofread tutorials: Review COMSOL tutorials to suggest corrections and improvements for grammar, clarity, style, formatting, and consistency.
• Test instructions: Verify tutorial instructions within COMSOL Multiphysics to confirm successful execution and expected results for each step.
• Communicate feedback: Identify and convey unclear, incomplete, or inaccurate instructions and recommended changes to the Product Information and Development teams.
• Review visuals and text: Examine screenshots, model settings, plots, results, and explanatory text for accuracy and alignment with the tutorial workflow.
• Support overall quality: Collaborate with technical writers and subject matter experts to maintain the high quality of tutorial documentation across various application areas.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current or incoming college student with eligibility to work in the USA, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Ability to learn new software tools and troubleshoot issues while following detailed tutorial workflows.
• Skills: Strong written communication skills with the ability to proofread technical material carefully, strong attention to detail, and an interest in engineering simulation, technical documentation, and software quality.
• Bonus: Coursework or project experience in electromagnetics, structural mechanics, acoustics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or chemical engineering; familiarity with COMSOL Multiphysics or other engineering simulation, CAD, or CAE software; or experience writing, editing, or reviewing technical instructions, lab reports, documentation, or tutorials.
