The Tone:
This is a part-time role at Takeda’s BioLife Plasma Services, located in Billings, MT. Takeda, through BioLife, is dedicated to transforming patient care by developing novel specialty pharmaceuticals. In this critical role, you will meet plasma donors and contribute directly to the collection of high-quality plasma, which is then used to create life-changing medicines. The TL;DR

• Type: Part-time (4 to 6 hours per day, 3 or more days per week)

• Team: Reports to the Plasma Center Manager.
• Mission: To screen plasma donors and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations, ensuring the collection of high-quality plasma for life-changing medicines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Donor Interaction: Act as a primary point of contact by answering phones, greeting, and focusing on the needs of plasma donors, while actively ensuring safety protocols are followed for both donors and BioLife team members.
• Screening & Vitals: Perform comprehensive screenings for both new and repeat plasma donors, accurately taking and recording their vital signs, and conducting precise finger stick tests as part of the donation process.
• Record Keeping: Utilize the Donor Information System to prepare and maintain accurate donor charts and records, ensuring all data is current and correctly managed, and meticulously coordinate donor compensation.
• Operational Improvement: Actively identify and contribute to opportunities for continuous operational improvement within the center, initiating approved changes to existing center processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Schedule Reliability: Demonstrate unwavering reliability during scheduled hours, including working a variety of shifts that encompass Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to consistently support the essential needs of our donors and the center’s operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. This position is suitable for individuals seeking an entry into the medical support field.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is explicitly required to start this role, as comprehensive paid training is provided from day one.
• Skills: Exhibit fine motor coordination and depth perception for precise tasks; demonstrate the ability to hear equipment from a distance for safety awareness; and maintain the ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods (90% of tasks) due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• Bonus: One or more years of experience in a direct customer or patient-facing role is considered helpful for success in this position.
