The Tone:
This is an internship position at Walmart, located in Kingsport, TN. Walmart is a vast organization with hundreds of thousands of associates, operating numerous retail stores and pharmacies across the country, dedicated to providing accessible goods and services. This role is crucial for supporting the pharmacy team in delivering front-line patient care and ensuring the safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. As a Pre-Grad Intern, you will directly contribute to improving community health and wellness by advocating for patient well-being within a busy community pharmacy setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Confidentiality: Ensure the strict confidentiality of all sensitive information, including patient data, internal documentation, and assigned records, in full compliance with Company policies, as well as local, State, and Federal guidelines.
• Order Processing: Provide essential support in the efficient processing of both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases for customers.
• Patient Care: Actively participate in delivering comprehensive patient care by recognizing individual patients, accurately assessing their unique health needs, and effectively helping them navigate various clinical therapies and health solutions.
• Inventory Management: Responsibly receive and accurately stock incoming merchandise and supplies from various distribution centers and external suppliers, ensuring proper storage and organization.
• Pharmacy Maintenance: Proactively manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, and consistently maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy area for optimal operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an Entry-Level internship position. Candidates must currently be actively enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school, demonstrating a foundational commitment to a career in pharmacy.
• Experience: Possess demonstrated proficiency in the fundamental principles of pharmaceutical care and show an aptitude for implementing best practices in a practical, real-world setting. A steadfast commitment to strictly following all HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) guidelines is essential to ensure patient privacy and data security.
• Skills: Exhibit an excellent ability to foster and maintain positive, trust-based relationships with both customers and members of the pharmacy team, contributing to a supportive environment. Demonstrate a clear capability to recognize and effectively cater to the unique and individual health needs of diverse patients. Show enthusiasm for active participation in community activities, outreach programs, and health-related events, promoting wellness beyond the pharmacy counter.
• Bonus: Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification, reflecting an advanced readiness to contribute to public health initiatives.
