Job Title: Pipeline Integrity Intern
Location: Baton Rouge, LA Office
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pipeline Integrity Intern to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support our critical In-Line Inspection (ILI) program. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with data analysis, tool run preparation, anomaly tracking, and post-run reviews, all aimed at ensuring pipeline integrity is maintained in strict compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
The ILI Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience with various facets of integrity management processes, including regulatory documentation, and will be exposed to cutting-edge industry technologies utilized for assessing and managing threats to our extensive pipeline assets. This position is ideal for students looking to immerse themselves in real-world pipeline operations and contribute to essential energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the analysis of in-line inspection data to identify potential anomalies and pipeline features.
- Support the preparation for ILI tool runs, including logistical coordination and documentation.
- Contribute to the tracking and management of pipeline anomalies, ensuring timely assessment and remediation planning.
- Participate in post-run reviews, analyzing results and contributing to integrity assessment reports.
- Gain exposure to regulatory documentation and compliance standards related to pipeline integrity (e.g., 49 CFR 192).
- Collaborate with integrity engineers and field personnel to understand operational aspects of pipeline maintenance.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience:
- Basic understanding of pipeline systems and fluid mechanics (coursework or lab experience is acceptable).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and assist in anomaly evaluation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of working effectively with datasets and templates.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through the ability to contribute to technical documentation and communicate clearly with internal teams.
- Detail-oriented and capable of following procedures with high accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience:
- Familiarity with various in-line inspection technologies, such as MFL, caliper, EMAT, UT, and deformation tools.
- Coursework or specialized training in nondestructive testing (NDT) or material science.
- Experience using GIS or mapping software (e.g., PODS, ArcGIS).
- Basic knowledge of 49 CFR 192, particularly Subpart O (Pipeline Integrity Management).
Required Education:
- High School Diploma.
- Must be a current Junior or Senior student.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related STEM field.
Preferred Education:
- Associates Degree.
- Must be a current Junior or Senior student.
