Operations Manager Trainee | WM

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership development program at WM, located in Eau Claire, WI for the initial 5-month training. • Location: In-person, Eau Claire, WI (training). Willingness to relocate within Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota post-training.
• Pay: $65000–$73000 yearly
• Team: Trainee preparing to manage frontline employees; collaborates with Operations Improvement, Fleet, Sales, District, and other Operations Managers.
• Mission: To prepare individuals to lead front-line operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and service excellence for WM’s mission of a sustainable tomorrow.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guide: Provide consistent support and develop job-related skills for frontline employees, including Drivers and Technicians.
• Learn: Complete the structured OMT training curriculum to gain hands-on field experience and leadership skills.
• Collaborate: Partner with various frontline managers to understand daily business operations and refine coaching techniques.
• Optimize: Review best practices to enhance daily performance, increase financial profitability, and maximize operational efficiency.
• Ensure: Develop knowledge and uphold DOT & OSHA safety programs, while also managing operational business processes and fleet maintenance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Entry-level. Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) combined with two (2) years of relevant work experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Skills: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be willing to relocate within the market area (Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota) upon completion of the training program.
