The Tone:
This is an internship at Pioneer Manufacturing Company, Inc., located in Cleveland, Ohio. Pioneer Athletics, founded in 1905, is the nation’s leading developer and manufacturer of athletic field marking paint and striping equipment, utilized by over 22,000 professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia. This role supports daily operational functions by assisting with critical analyses such as transportation cost analysis, lane optimization, and time studies, directly contributing to efficiency improvements across the facility. It offers practical, hands-on experience in a manufacturing and logistics environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transportation Cost Support: Analyze freight invoices, identify cost discrepancies, and maintain accurate cost tracking reports to ensure financial efficiency.
• Lane Optimization: Review shipment data, evaluate current routing efficiency, and support carrier performance analysis to identify areas for improvement.
• Operational Time Studies: Conduct time studies on various warehouse and production tasks, document precise cycle times, and identify critical bottlenecks.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain organized datasets, prepare clear summary reports, and support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or Supply Chain Management. Early Career.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong analytical aptitude. Comfortable working in both office settings for data analysis and on the operations floor for observation and data collection.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including expertise in Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other data manipulation functions. Highly detail-oriented with exceptional communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Bonus: Prior experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
