What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn Operations: Gain comprehensive exposure and develop a foundational understanding of basic transportation management principles and logistics services.
• Participate in Planning: Become involved in and actively participate in daily operational tasks, specifically focusing on the planning of freight and optimizing asset utilization.
• Ensure Compliance & Management: Contribute to critical areas such as safety management, Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, and driver payroll processes, understanding their operational impact.
• Analyze Trends & Customer Value: Work to gain an understanding of industry trends and company initiatives as they relate to driver retention, and support customer value delivery and logistics management/analysis.
• Execute & Coordinate: Perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customers, and assist with maintenance coordination and other related operational assignments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college, or university, with an Entry-Level career status.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to commit to working 20-25 hours per week consistently during the academic semester.
• Skills: Proficiency in key applications within the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for various operational tasks.
• Bonus: Preferred academic standing as a Junior or Senior level student; proven ability to adapt effectively to a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities and directives; willingness to work flexible hours to support operational needs.
