Programs and Operations Intern (Volunteer, Remote) | Duet

The Tone:
This is a volunteer, remote internship at Duet. Duet operates as an online philanthropic platform that empowers donors to provide dignified and efficient aid to vulnerable families by directly funding their requested items. Currently assisting refugee families in Greece and expanding for COVID-19 relief in LA, Duet is a registered 501(c)(3) charity, supported by over 20 students and recent graduates. This role is crucial for an agile nonprofit dedicated to leveraging technology for social good, playing a central part in creating seamless international and domestic operations.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Volunteer, Part-time (6-8 hours per week)
• Location: Remote

• Team: Reports to the Chief Operating Officer within a team of over 20 students and recent graduates.
• Mission: Streamline international and domestic operations to deliver meaningful aid to vulnerable families.
• Tech Stack: SQL, Metabase, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Interface: Interface directly with on-the-ground operations in Lesvos and Athens, Greece.
• Coordinate: Coordinate item pickups to ensure families receive necessary aid.
• Communicate: Engage with local partners and keep donors informed on progress.
• Onboard: Onboard vulnerable families onto the Duet philanthropic platform.
• Streamline: Contribute to streamlining Duet’s international and domestic operational processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or recent graduate with a clear interest in social good.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability in detail-oriented processes and coordinating across multiple stakeholders, alongside a proven track record of diligent work and sustained effort.
• Skills: Strong initiative, ownership of tasks, organizational capabilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Bonus: Some prior experience with operations systems and processes, an eagerness to learn new systems, and a creative, outside-the-box approach to problem-solving.
