OPERATIONS INTERN
Reports to: Senior Enterprise Project Manager
Status: Temporary/Seasonal, Full-time or Part-time, Exempt
Location: Anchorage, AK
Job Summary:
Aleut is seeking a creative and motivated Operations Intern to support our operations & project management teams and initiatives. This 10-week summer internship, starting on or around June 1, 2026, will provide hands-on experience in various business functions, specifically focusing on marketing, communications, and digital projects, all within a professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively uphold and embody the mission, values, and strategic goals of Aleut.
- Prepare and deliver a comprehensive learning summary presentation to Aleut management at the conclusion of the internship.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on special projects as assigned.
- Contribute positively and professionally as a team member in a corporate setting.
- Provide support for project planning, tracking progress, and maintaining thorough documentation.
- Assist in analyzing existing operational processes and propose actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare various reports, presentations, and essential meeting materials.
- Engage in a goal-setting process with the direct supervisor to define clear learning objectives for the internship duration.
- Observe and actively assist with department programs, services, research activities, and other assigned tasks.
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to acquire knowledge and develop skills pertinent to the department’s functions.
- Organize and contribute to the implementation of strategies for various special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Communication Expertise: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in speech writing, proper grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate good interpersonal and public contact skills, with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff within Aleut and its affiliated companies; consistently exhibit a professional manner in interactions.
- Organizational & Problem-Solving: Exhibit good organizational skills, the ability to solve problems efficiently, and exercise sound judgment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in a continuing education program, such as a degree, vocational, or certification program.
- Must be an Aleut Corporation Shareholder and/or descendent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Junior undergraduate, Senior undergraduate, or Graduate student.
- Strong interest in business operations, business management, or project management.
