About the Job Description

Job Title: Operations Improvement Associate (INTERNSHIP)

Department: Service Operations team, supporting the Long-Term Service Agreement organization.

Internship Focus: This internship is for individuals passionate about continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence. The intern will work on real-world projects aimed at impacting efficiency, quality, and performance, playing a key role in analyzing and enhancing business processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead in mapping and analyzing current service workflows to identify inefficiencies.
Support the development and maintenance of performance dashboards for the Service Operations department.
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements.
Contribute to department-organized improvement projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor process enhancements/changes.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Education: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Business Intelligence/Analytics, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Juniors and above are eligible.
Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Excel.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.).
• Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Draw.io).
• Exposure to project management platforms is a plus.
Legal Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Internship Details:
Work Schedule:
During School: Minimum of 15-20 hours per week during business hours, up to 28 hours per week maximum. (Flexible around school schedule and finals).
During Breaks: Up to 40 hours per week as needed.
Length: Minimum 1 year, with potential for extension if a good fit. Commitment to this timeframe is required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Required to adhere to MPSA and customer safety procedures, policies, and practices, including the use of personal protection equipment.
• Maintain a good status of driver’s license and passport.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Working environment may be loud.
