This is for an Operations & Finance Internship, offered as Part-Time Employment and is Paid.

Location: DFW, TX (Hybrid)

Compensation: $18/hour

Summary of the Role:
Ascent Capital Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Operations & Finance Intern to support their operations and finance team. This internship provides extensive hands-on exposure to the internal workings of investment management, fund administration, and broader financial operations. It is specifically highlighted as an excellent opportunity for students looking to gain real-world experience in finance, operations, and private markets within a fast-paced investment environment.

Key Responsibilities (May Include):

1. Invoice & Payment Management:
• Tracking, organizing, and managing invoices from various vendors, service providers, and partners.
• Maintaining and updating payment schedules to ensure accuracy and timely disbursements.
• Collaborating with leadership to prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
2. Fund Administration & Transactions:
• Working in collaboration with the external fund administrator to reconcile transactions, capital calls, and distributions.
• Reviewing and categorizing fund transactions to ensure accuracy across all accounts.
• Monitoring incoming and outgoing wires, investment flows, and expense allocations.
3. Financial Reporting & Record-Keeping:
• Ensuring the timely and accurate entry of transactions into relevant financial systems.
• Assisting in the preparation of internal financial reports for management review.
• Providing support for ongoing audits, compliance requests, and necessary reconciliations.
4. Management Support:
• Regularly meeting with leadership to review upcoming invoices, bills, and other financial obligations.
• Providing summaries and recommendations regarding payment priorities.
• Supporting various ad hoc projects across operations, finance, and compliance functions.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student, ideally pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables, formulas, and reconciliations. Familiarity with QuickBooks, fund administration platforms, or other financial software is a plus.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail, with accuracy being paramount.
Communication: Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
Professionalism: A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, especially when handling sensitive financial information.
