• Job Title: Operations Excellence Intern/Co-Op
• Location: Memphis, TN
• Duration: The primary focus is for a start in Fall 2025. Preliminary recruiting is also underway for Spring and Summer 2026 terms. Applicants will specify their availability during the interview process.
• Team/Group: This position is within The Hershey Company’s Operations Excellence group.
• Overall Goal of the Position:
• To offer students an opportunity to gain real-world experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods and Food processing industry.
• To help students develop professionally through a progressive approach with increasing responsibilities.
• To provide an excellent opportunity to work alongside Line Centric Teams on Company goals related to continuous improvement and Hershey Lean initiatives.
• Key Responsibilities: Typical assignments and responsibilities for the intern/co-op may include:
• Recipe standardization across all equipment, involving the removal of old recipes and ensuring all recipes are correctly identified.
• Assisting with 5S activities, with a particular focus on the location and quantities of consumable items, in collaboration with the PM pillar.
• RCO (Reliability-Centered Operations) Implementation, based on input provided by Process Leads.
• Working on CI (Continuous Improvement) Projects, which will be specific to the timing of the individual’s tenure, and collaborating with Process Leads on existing projects.
• Engaging with operators on the production lines to identify project opportunities (referred to as “Go-Do’s”).
• Performing other duties as needed to support the Operations Excellence group.
• Education Requirements: Candidates must be an undergraduate student majoring in engineering at the sophomore level or higher.
