Operations Co-Op (Fall 2026) | Precision Castparts

The Tone:
This is a Co-Op role at Precision Castparts, located in a manufacturing environment. Precision Castparts is a high-performance manufacturing organization. This immersive experience is designed for students interested in a future career leading people in manufacturing, allowing them to build leadership skills while directly driving improvements and solving real operational problems on the production floor.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person

• Mission: This role solves operational problems and drives measurable results by working directly alongside experienced operations leaders on the production floor.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Production Support: Support daily production activities on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Process Improvement: Execute and sustain 6S initiatives and conduct process, quality, and performance audits to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as scrap, first-pass yield, throughput, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
• Project Implementation: Partner with engineering and operations to implement continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, cost reduction, and process capability.
• Issue Resolution: Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA) for quality and production issues, while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a BS Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Management, having completed at least the freshman year.
• Experience: Comfort working directly with manufacturing equipment, processes, and materials, and demonstrating initiative in improving outcomes.
• Skills: Ability to analyze processes and performance data, apply root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Strong interest in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and making practical, hands-on process improvements. Technical and mechanical acumen, including understanding how and why production systems operate. Ability to work effectively with frontline teams and cross-functional partners.
