The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – ALSAC, located on the LeMoyne-Owen College campus in Memphis, TN. ALSAC functions as the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a respected nonprofit dedicated to finding cures and saving children from catastrophic diseases. This unique campus-based program offers students an invaluable opportunity to engage, learn, and build professional skills within a supportive call center environment. Interns in this role are crucial to advancing the St. Jude mission by effectively communicating with individuals, businesses, and organizations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Communicate: Provide support and information to individuals, businesses, and organizations on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
• Develop: Engage, learn, and build valuable professional skills through hands-on internship experience within the call center.
• Articulate: Speak and write clearly and concisely when communicating with both internal and external relationships.
• Process: Accurately listen to and understand verbal/written instructions or information, then precisely input corresponding data.
• Safeguard: Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information encountered while representing St. Jude.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled at LeMoyne-Owen College; must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience: Ability to fully commit to and attend the mandatory 10-day training period.
• Skills: Clear and understandable verbal and written communication in English; active listening and comprehension of instructions; accurate data input; sound judgment; ability to maintain confidentiality; a strong commitment to the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
