Operations Analytics Co-op | Delta

The Tone:
This is a Co-op program at Delta, located in Atlanta, GA. Delta is a global airline dedicated to connecting people and places efficiently and safely. In this role, you will collaborate with analytics professionals across various operational departments, directly contributing to the efficiency and performance of Delta’s airline operations. This co-op provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a data-driven environment.

• Mission: Contribute to the efficiency and performance of Delta’s airline operations through data analysis and insights.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, Python, SQL or similar database query tool, Macro programming.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Performance Analysis: Measure current operational performance and customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.
• Data Interpretation: Research, analyze, and interpret operational data to uncover critical insights.
• Reporting & Automation: Develop new reports and dashboards, and automate existing reporting processes.
• Optimization Recommendations: Evaluate key operational metrics (e.g., aircraft time at gate, gating efficiency) and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Strategic Support: Provide strategic and operational support by developing performance metrics, goals, and statistical evaluations for new initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar 4-year degree program.
• Program & Availability: Required to complete three alternating semesters of full-time work and school (Summer 2026, Spring 2027, Fall 2027) before graduation. Must be able to report in-person to Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA or be willing to relocate each semester (housing stipends provided for eligible students).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundamental data analysis tools and concepts.
• Skills & Values: Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills. Team-oriented and supportive of continuous improvement methodologies. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data, and embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge, and Macro programming.
