Material Handler (Level 1) | Amazon
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Amazon, located in Mt. Juliet, TN. Amazon operates as a global e-commerce and logistics leader, delivering vast numbers of products to customers daily through an extensive network of fulfillment centers. This Material Handler position is crucial for the seamless operation of one of these key facilities, directly impacting the ability to fulfill customer orders by ensuring the availability and proper flow of essential non-inventory materials. The role supports various internal teams and contributes directly to the overall efficiency and productivity of the fulfillment center environment.

• Mission: Ensure the smooth distribution and organization of non-inventory products to support fulfillment center operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Maintenance: Collaborate with Non-Inventory Receivers and Purchasing Operations Analysts to actively help maintain accurate inventories of non-product goods within the fulfillment center.
• Operational Support: Provide direct support to daily fulfillment center operations by ensuring the availability and organized distribution of necessary materials.
• Product Distribution: Manage and maintain the continuous distribution of essential non-inventory products and supplies throughout the various sections of the fulfillment center.
• In-process Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain the flow of in-process inventory, ensuring efficient movement from designated market areas to mini-market locations.
• Non-Inventoried Goods Management: Actively assist in the organization and management of key non-inventoried items such as pallets, Go-Carts, black pallet sleeves, and other diverse operational goods.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience using computers, specifically Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Skills:
• Physical Stamina: Demonstrated ability to lift and move objects up to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout a shift.
• Endurance and Mobility: Capability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10-12 hours per shift, and to continuously climb and descend stairs safely in applicable site layouts.
• Work Flexibility: Willingness and availability to work all assigned shifts, including mandatory overtime as required, to meet operational demands.
