The Tone
This is a full-time role at BGBx, a commercial solutions partner to pharmaceutical and life science companies, with the option to work remotely within the United States. • Team: Medical and Scientific Affairs Department (70+ members), reporting to a manager or designated senior team member.
• Mission: Lead the day-to-day development of high-quality, scientifically rigorous medical content that aligns with brand strategy and objectives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Development: Conduct required research and develop scientifically accurate, strategically aligned, and impactful medical content from initiation through completion, with input from a manager.
• Quality Assurance: Accurately and efficiently annotate content according to brand style guides and AMA rules, assuming accountability for the accuracy of all work.
• Strategic Planning: Understand the product, scientific, therapeutic, and competitive landscape to proactively provide recommendations for planned projects and adhere to internal processes and timelines.
• Client Engagement: Actively engage in discussions with clients in a team setting, building comfort in speaking to content and rapport through subject matter knowledge, potentially acting as a client-facing medical lead with manager support.
• Internal Collaboration: Understand the Medical team’s role within the agency, share best practices and strategic insights to maximize efficiencies, and lead by example to demonstrate team productivity and superior scientific quality for all deliverables.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Doctorate Degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) or a Master’s Degree (MS) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Experience: At least one year of experience as a medical writer in medical communications or a related industry.
• Skills: Proven ability to conduct proficient research, develop grammatically correct and impactful scientific content, accurately annotate content, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, alongside being detail-oriented and team-focused.
• Bonus: Interest in applying scientific training to drug development strategy and scientific knowledge exchange, with an enjoyment for working on a range of projects including complex scientific analysis and creative communications.
