Who You Are:
You are a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering student currently entering your Senior year, eager to gain invaluable hands-on experience and significant exposure to building mechanics, advanced energy systems, and performance optimization. Based at Ecosystem’s Washington office, you will directly contribute to the pivotal Georgetown University project. As an intern, you will join a multidisciplinary and innovative team of technical engineers, all dedicated to the successful delivery of multimillion-dollar projects.

What You Will Do:
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will immerse yourself in the practical application of engineering principles and project management. Your responsibilities will include:
Collaborate closely with seasoned design and construction engineers through all phases of energy efficiency projects, from initial planning to final execution.
Coordinate complex retrofits within occupied buildings, gaining practical experience in site logistics and minimizing disruption.
Actively interact with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, internal project teams, and suppliers, honing your professional communication skills.
Contribute significantly to the procurement process and manage supplier and subcontractor work packages, understanding the intricacies of project supply chains.
Ensure rigorous compliance with all health and safety best practices on construction sites, prioritizing a safe working environment.
Assist with crucial project scheduling and comprehensive risk assessments, developing your foresight and proactive problem-solving abilities.
Support detailed budget analysis, including cost and margin projections, and help estimate project changes and their financial impacts.
Participate in key meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal resources to swiftly resolve issues and ensure seamless project implementation.

Your Profile:
We are seeking an ambitious and resourceful individual who possesses:
• You are a Mechanical Engineering student entering your Senior year, ready to apply your academic knowledge in a dynamic setting.
• A strong sense of curiosity about bringing a project from the drawing board to real-life construction and operational success.
• A genuine interest in HVAC and energy system performance, with a desire to contribute to sustainable solutions.
• You are resourceful, autonomous, and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and diverse stakeholders.
• While not mandatory, any previous experience in engineering or construction-related fields is a definite plus, showcasing your early commitment to the industry.
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• You are able to travel to and work on-site daily as needed, embracing the hands-on nature of our projects.
