About the Role
Nexus Family Healing is seeking a master’s level Clinical Intern to join their team at their East Bethel, MN Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), which serves youth ages 10-19 needing mental and behavioral health care. This internship provides unpaid experience working with youth and families, preparing students for a career in the mental/behavioral health field, while applying classroom theory to practical experience and meeting academic program requirements.
What You’ll Do
• Fulfill the required academic program and or/ Academic Institution’s criteria for an internship learning objectives.
• Participate in the orientation and the onboarding process to learn Nexus Family Healing’s policy and procedure expectations (e.g. safety, harassment free environment, resident confidentiality, etc.).
• Ensure confidentiality of all treatment and services information pertaining to clients and their families.
• Maintain agreed upon schedule and timeliness.
• Meet the supervision requirements and expectations.
• Act ethically, professionally, and is respectful when communicating and interfacing with clients, coworkers, and external contacts.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed and/or requested of the position.
• Shadow and train in areas such as social work, early childhood treatment, in-home services, family therapy, and treatment evaluation.
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are enrolled in a Master’s or other graduate degree program in one of the Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or related fields, from an accredited college or university.
• Meet the required number of experience hours in a human services field for the internship level.
• Have a valid driver’s license and meet the state regulating agency and corporate driving requirements.
• Have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
• Are open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
• Are able to successfully pass a DHS background check.

• Possess knowledge of family-based philosophy and practice.
