Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern – WM | Walmart

The Tone:
This is a pre-graduate internship at Walmart, located in Greeneville, TN. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Greeneville, TN
• Pay: $19.50–$32.50 hourly
• Team: Works within a community pharmacy team, supporting its goals and operations, with an emphasis on customer service and efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services.
• Mission: This role is focused on actively supporting daily pharmacy operations and team goals, contributing to customer health and wellness, advocating for patient wellbeing, and helping patients navigate clinical therapies within an energetic community pharmacy environment, while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Confidentiality: Ensure the strict confidentiality of all patient information, documentation, and assigned records, adhering to Company policies and all local, State, and Federal guidelines, including HIPAA.
• Order Processing: Assist with the accurate and efficient processing of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders and purchases to ensure timely patient access to medications.
• Patient Care: Deliver direct patient care by effectively recognizing patient needs, conducting initial assessments, and providing support to help patients navigate various clinical therapies.
• Inventory Management: Receive, organize, and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and external suppliers, contributing to an efficiently managed pharmacy area.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy school program, preparing for a career in pharmaceutical care and patient advocacy.
• Experience: Not specified for years. Beneficial experience includes practical exposure to pharmaceutical care best practices and fostering strong relationships with both customers and the pharmacy team.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in pharmaceutical care and the implementation of best practices.
• Strong ability to foster positive relationships with customers and the broader pharmacy team.
• Capability to cater effectively to individual patient needs, recognizing and assessing specific requirements.
• Demonstrated commitment to following all HIPAA and Protected Health Information (PHI) guidelines.
• Bonus: Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification
