The Tone:
This is an internship at Duke University, with remote eligibility. Duke University School of Medicine is a highly-ranked institution globally, known for its interdisciplinary collaboration to translate fundamental scientific discoveries into improved human health locally and around the globe. This role is crucial for supporting the development and dissemination of an evidence-based suicide prevention training program for firefighters and first responders. The intern will directly contribute to public safety and well-being by helping to ensure the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of this vital intervention.
The TL;DR

• Team: Multidisciplinary project team within the Beckham Lab, under the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
• Mission: Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of an evidence-based suicide prevention training program for firefighters and first responders.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Development: Develop graphics and text for project slides and edit slide presentations.
• Reporting Support: Assist with the preparation of project summaries and reports.
• Meeting Participation: Attend study meetings to contribute to discussions and project progress.
• Project Contribution: Actively contribute to project planning, problem-solving, and ongoing study operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing undergraduate studies.
• Experience: No specific years of experience or platform expertise are explicitly required.
• Skills: Project content development, report preparation, project planning, problem-solving.
• Bonus: Interest in psychology, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and suicide prevention.
