• Mission: This person ensures operating rooms are consistently clean, sanitized, and fully stocked with necessary sterile supplies and equipment to support scheduled procedures and emergency needs.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Cleaning Services: Perform general cleaning tasks within and outside of patient rooms throughout the perioperative environment.
• Equipment Management: Ensure all instrumentation, supplies, and specialty equipment are delivered and available for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Sterile Delivery: Deliver sterile supplies and equipment directly to the Operating Room in a timely manner.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency calls or urgent requests for cleaning services as needed.
• Room Preparation: Assist in preparing patient rooms for procedures, including comprehensive cleaning, sanitation, and the transport of special equipment and supply needs according to AAMI standards.
• Waste Removal: Remove solid and/or biohazard trash from designated areas, adhering to all safety protocols.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED with a basic job knowledge of systems and procedures common to the role.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Skills:
• Customer Service (Intermediate): Ability to manage customer satisfaction and discuss options effectively.
• Sterilization Preparation (Fundamental Awareness): Limited experience or training in sterilization preparation.
• Surgical Equipment Knowledge (Intermediate): Solid understanding of surgical equipment, its performance criteria, and the ability to resolve basic equipment problems.
