SedMed – Marketing Intern | Connecticut Innovations
The Tone:
This is an internship at SedMed, located in Milford, CT, offering a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days a week onsite. SedMed is dedicated to promoting the safety and independence of individuals with mobility impairments through innovative product solutions, primarily the SedMed Toilet Lift Assist. This role provides an opportunity for a college student to make a tangible impact by supporting marketing efforts and assisting with day-to-day business operations for a medical device startup. You will gain hands-on experience and contribute directly to enhancing the quality of life for customers and users.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Develop engaging social media content for Facebook and LinkedIn, including professional captions, copy, and simple graphics.
• Social Media Management: Build and maintain a content calendar, schedule posts across channels, and monitor engagement to improve performance.
• Influencer Program Support: Assist with developing and growing SedMed’s influencer program through research, outreach, and relationship management.
• Logistics Coordination: Prepare, pack, and ship products, samples, and marketing materials, while coordinating shipping for customer orders, demonstrations, and trade shows.
• Event Support: Organize, inventory, and maintain trade show displays and materials, and assist with event preparation and post-event organization.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level college student with an interest in marketing and business operations.
• Experience: Familiarity with Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms; strong writing and communication skills.
• Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and comfortable working independently.
• Bonus: Experience with Canva or similar design software; interest in healthcare, aging in place, or medical devices; willingness to assist with hands-on marketing and operational projects.
