Marketing Intern | Last Draft AI
The Tone:
This is an unpaid, remote internship at Last Draft AI. Last Draft is a unique marketplace enabling students to license their academic papers as training data to AI labs, ensuring creators are compensated for their work. This role is crucial for building the foundational student marketing and distribution, directly shaping how millions of students discover and engage with a groundbreaking new revenue stream for their dormant academic work. You will be at the very beginning of the company’s distribution efforts, with significant ownership and direct impact.
The TL;DR

• Team: Reports directly to the founder.
• Mission: Own student marketing and acquisition to expand the reach of the Last Draft platform.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquisition: Drive student acquisition across various campus-specific online communities like subreddits, Discords, and social media networks.
• Content: Create trustworthy content explaining the value of old coursework, AI training data provenance, and the economics of the platform.
• Experiments: Design and execute marketing experiments, analyzing and reporting on their numerical outcomes honestly, including failures.
• Ambassador Program: Develop and manage an ambassador program for students interested in promoting Last Draft on their own campuses.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A current student with an understanding of academic writing and student communities; no specific major required.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to create and share projects or content; no prior internship experience is required.
• Skills: Ability to write clear, authentic prose; genuinely online with knowledge of how content travels through college-specific digital spaces; and a skeptical instinct to ensure accuracy in all communications.
