Marketing & HQ Office Support Intern | Meridian Waste
The Tone:
This is a paid internship at Meridian Waste, located in Charlotte, NC. Meridian Waste is a full-service solid waste management company dedicated to environmental responsibility, fostering strong community partnerships, and achieving operational excellence. This role is crucial for supporting various marketing initiatives, corporate events, community outreach programs, and general office operations, directly empowering frontline teams by enhancing corporate communications and administrative efficiency.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, Charlotte, NC
• Pay: $18 hourly
• Team: Corporate headquarters supporting multi-state operations
• Mission: This intern will support and empower frontline teams by enhancing corporate marketing initiatives, community engagement, and the overall efficiency of headquarters administrative and communication functions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media platforms, digital communication tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Event Coordination: Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of corporate events, trade shows, and community outreach initiatives.
• Marketing Support: Provide support for grassroots marketing and outreach efforts, including both internal and external communications.
• Social Media Management: Help manage social media content, rapid communications, and basic content scheduling for various platforms.
• Administrative Assistance: Offer administrative support to the corporate office, including tasks such as document organization, electronic file storage management, shipping/distribution logistics, and expense reporting assistance.
• Content Creation: Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, presentations, and internal communications as required.
• Project Contribution: Support day-to-day office operations and contribute to special projects across various departments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an academic program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a demonstrated interest in corporate marketing, event management, or communications.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with a professional and collaborative demeanor; highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in event coordination and administrative tasks; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; working knowledge of popular social media platforms and various digital communication tools.
• Bonus: Familiarity with social media management tools.
