Marketing and Event Coordinator | Houston’s
The Tone:
This is an entry-level, full-time role for Houston’s, with an opportunity for hybrid work in Wilsonville, Oregon, after six months. Houston’s is a premier sourcing solution for the food service industry, specializing in the redistribution of specialty food and beverages, small wares, and equipment. This role is crucial for supporting all internal and external marketing initiatives and event planning. The chosen candidate will gain valuable experience and significantly contribute to the organization’s future in a collaborative and supportive environment.

• Team: Marketing team, collaborating with cross-functional teams and the Marketing Project Manager
• Mission: This person primarily supports internal and external marketing initiatives and event planning through proactive project coordination, communication, and execution.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, Canva
What You’ll Actually Do
• Campaign Support: Support the execution of marketing campaigns across digital, social media, email, and print channels.
• Material Development: Develop and distribute internal and customer-facing marketing materials, including a monthly newsletter and award certifications.
• Website Management: Proactively maintain Houston’s website catalog by adding images, spec sheets, new items, and removing clearance items.
• Customer & Internal Coordination: Own the coordination and preparation of new customer welcome packets and company apparel ordering and distribution.
• Event Logistics: Support the coordination of event timelines, shipping schedules, registrations, and materials preparation in collaboration with the Marketing Project Manager.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience required.
• Experience: No specific years required; customer service, photography, or event planning experience is preferred.
• Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, strong written communication and self-editing skills, ability to self-motivate and manage multiple projects, excellent teamwork skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, familiarity with Canva or equivalent templated design tools.
