CED Management Training Program – Aspiring Business Leaders

Are you a sales-minded individual with a drive to lead and an entrepreneurial spirit? CED’s comprehensive Management Training program is designed to cultivate future leaders who will run their own multi-million-dollar CED locations. This intensive program offers a unique blend of hands-on experience and structured learning, preparing you for a rewarding career in the electrical wholesale distribution industry.

Program Overview

This immersive 2-3 year on-the-job training program provides a holistic understanding of every facet of CED’s business operations. You will rotate through key departments, gaining practical experience and developing essential skills across various functions:

  • Warehouse Operations: Learn the intricacies of inventory management, logistics, shipping, and receiving.
  • Counter Sales: Develop direct customer service and sales skills, understanding client needs and product applications.
  • Financial Management: Gain experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and analyzing financial statements.
  • Purchasing: Understand supply chain management, vendor relations, and procurement processes.
  • Account Management: Cultivate relationships with key clients, manage their needs, and drive sales growth.
  • Project Management: Learn to plan, execute, and oversee complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Inventory Management: Optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure product availability.
  • Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, strategize growth initiatives, and expand market share.

In addition to practical rotations, you will attend multiple sessions focused on electrical products, advanced sales techniques, and leadership development. This blended learning approach ensures you build a strong foundation in both industry knowledge and managerial expertise. No prior industry experience is required – we provide all the training you need to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: We will consider related experience in lieu of a degree for exceptional candidates.
  • Current, Valid Driver’s License: With an acceptable driving record.
  • Authorization to Work in the United States: Without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future.
  • Ability and Willingness to Relocate: During and upon completion of the program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales or customer service experience is a plus.

Working Conditions

Due to the rotational nature of the program, working conditions will vary significantly:

  • Diverse Environments: You will experience warehouse, office, and external field environments.
  • Physical Demands: Some segments may involve physical activities such as lifting, sorting, standing for extended periods, and potential exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions within the warehouse.
  • Office Work: Office segments may include sitting for extended periods.
  • Travel: Various segments will require some travel, both by car and by air.

Essential Job Functions

  • Actively learning all aspects of the CED business through hands-on training and observation.
  • Attending classes and training sessions in various locations as required.
  • Communicating effectively, both written and spoken, in English.
