Diesel Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice | Clean Harbors

The Tone:
This is a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship at Clean Harbors, located in Kingston, MA. You will join a safety-conscious team, assisting experienced mechanics in the building and fabrication of Vacuum Trucks. This role is crucial for supporting Clean Harbors’ operations and contributing to their mission of creating a safer, cleaner environment through the treatment, recycling, and disposal of hazardous materials.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Compliance: Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Mechanical Assistance: Provide support to senior mechanics as needed and directed in the fabrication process.
• Warehouse Operations: Perform various warehouse duties to maintain operational efficiency.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Facility Upkeep: Maintain the facility through regular housekeeping duties and complete daily checklists.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma with career technical education, focused on diesel vehicle mechanics or related fields. This is an early career role.
• Experience: 1+ years of prior experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, demonstrating foundational knowledge.
• Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and proficiency with basic mechanical tools.
• Bonus: Secondary Trade school preferred, related mechanical certifications preferred.
