The Tone:
This is an entry-level training position at Southeastern Freight Lines, a prominent company within the transportation industry specializing in freight delivery. What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Actively engage in an intensive, structured 16-week Operations Management Trainee Program, a key step in preparing for a supervisory role within the company’s operations.
• Core Learning: Systematically acquire fundamental principles of the transportation industry, focusing on efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication techniques, and essential relationship-building skills.
• Leadership Development: Successfully complete a comprehensive leadership training program, utilizing both guided instruction and independent study to build foundational management capabilities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface daily with various Support Center and Service Center associates, collaborating on and completing diverse aspects of the training curriculum.
• Operational Immersion: Gain firsthand understanding by observing an Account Manager during customer sales calls and accompanying drivers on local delivery routes to comprehend the full freight delivery process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics. Alternatively, candidates must have at least two years of related professional work experience in a relevant field. This is an entry-level career position designed for foundational development.
• Experience: Maintain an acceptable driving history that consistently aligns with company standards, a critical requirement for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills, complemented by effective listening abilities, to foster clear interaction. Exhibit proficient written communication skills for professional documentation. Possess basic computer skills necessary for daily tasks. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, coupled with a very strong work ethic to thrive in a demanding environment. Furthermore, display flexibility and a clear readiness to relocate to another facility upon program completion for the first leadership role.
