The Tone:
This is a full-time, structured management trainee program at Mountaire Farms, with required travel between facilities in Delaware and North Carolina. Mountaire Farms is a leading agricultural food production and processing company, recognized as the fourth largest chicken company in the United States and proudly family-owned. This program is designed to cultivate future leaders by immersing them in comprehensive hands-on experience across the entire vertically integrated business. The role offers broad exposure to critical operations and support departments, providing an invaluable opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that drive the company’s success.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Develop future leaders for Mountaire Farms’ Agri-Business and Operations by providing comprehensive hands-on experience across all facets of the vertically integrated business and contributing to key business challenges through a capstone project.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotate: Participate in structured, hands-on training rotations during the first three months across critical departments such as Live Operations, Processing Operations, Sales, HR, Accounting, IT, Transportation, and Procurement to gain an end-to-end understanding of company operations.
• Understand: Engage with cross-functional teams and department leaders to thoroughly understand operational workflows, business processes, and how various departments interact to contribute to overall company success.
• Strategize: Collaborate with department leaders to identify key business challenges or opportunities, then work on strategic initiatives within a specific functional area during the final three months of the program.
• Present: Design, develop, and execute a capstone project that addresses an identified business challenge or opportunity, culminating in a presentation to senior leadership, executives, and the next cohort of management trainees.
• Develop: Actively participate in leadership and development workshops to enhance personal and professional skills, build relationships with employees at all levels, and contribute to the company’s family-focused business culture.
• Report: Complete weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly reports as required to track progress and contribute to departmental insights.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent graduate holding a degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture Studies, Agriculture Economics, or a closely related field; suitable for an Entry-Level career.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong interest in pursuing a career in management and leadership within the agricultural sector; willingness to learn rapidly and adapt effectively in a dynamic business environment.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective communication skills; proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; exhibit a proactive approach to work with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Bonus: Must be willing to travel to different Mountaire Farms facilities located throughout Delaware and North Carolina during the program duration.
