The Tone:
This is a full-time, day shift role at Edgewood Healthcare, specifically serving the Edgewood Brookings community. Edgewood Healthcare provides senior living solutions across more than 60 beautiful communities in seven states, including its 45-bed Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Brookings, SD. As Maintenance Director, you will be instrumental in rallying the maintenance team to ensure the building operates seamlessly. Your essential work allows residents to consistently feel comfortable, safe, and secure within their home.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time

• Team: Leads and trains other maintenance staff.
• Mission: Lead the maintenance team to ensure the building runs like a well-oiled machine, providing residents with comfort, safety, and security.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facilities Management: Oversee the regular maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the entire building, its grounds, and all operational equipment.
• Priority Setting: Strategically prioritize maintenance duties and projects, giving precedence to issues impacting safety and overall community needs.
• Team Leadership & Development: Provide hands-on supervision and structured training to other maintenance staff members, while also demonstrating the ability to perform tasks independently.
• Financial & Process Improvement: Manage operations within the established department budget and proactively offer suggestions for enhancing existing processes and efficiencies.
• Policy Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to all HIPAA regulations and fully comply with every established policy set forth by Edgewood Healthcare.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess an Associate’s degree in a field related to maintenance, facilities management, or a similar technical discipline.
• Experience: Demonstrated previous experience covering practical skills such as drywall repair, painting, light electrical work, and groundskeeping, complemented by a solid understanding of heating, cooling, and plumbing systems.
• Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines, coupled with expertise in building, fire, and life safety codes; a valid driver’s license is also required.
