Low Band Surveillance (LBS) Project Intern | Leidos

The Tone:
This is an internship at Leidos, located in Huntsville, AL. Leidos is an industry and technology leader that builds smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations, serving government and commercial customers. This role supports the Low Band Surveillance (LBS) program, a large and complex radar system. The intern will work directly with Project Managers to ensure the LBS U and LBS V programs meet mission commitments to the customer and financial commitments to the LBS Portfolio Manager.

• Mission: Support the LBS U and LBS V programs in meeting customer mission commitments and financial goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Documentation: Work with Project Managers to create program documentation, including Program Management, Supplier Management, and Risk Management Plans.
• Presentations: Create PowerPoint slides for various internal and external meetings.
• Schedule Analysis: Review the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for discrepancies with logic, collaborating with technical teams.
• Risk Identification: Help identify new risks to the program to support proactive management.
• Project Leadership Support: Assist Project Managers with managing the cost baseline and leading project teams through the product delivery life cycle for both hardware and software development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in college, exiting either freshman or sophomore year.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience managing programs or teams, with a preference for experience in hardware production teams.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong customer interaction, and presentation skills; US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Bonus: Experience and/or working knowledge of risk identification, analysis, and management techniques; subcontract management, including creating Statements of Work (SOW) and managing technical, schedule, and budget; proposal management, including identifying key partners and planning proposal responses.
