Low Band Surveillance (LBS) Project Intern | Leidos
The Tone:
This is an internship at Leidos, located in Huntsville, AL, for Summer 2026. Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter digital and mission innovations. The LBS program involves a sophisticated and complex radar system, and this role supports critical program performance by assisting Project Managers in meeting mission commitments to customers and financial goals for the LBS U and LBS V programs. • Team: Reports to LBS Project Managers
• Mission: Ensure critical mission commitments to customers and financial commitments to the LBS Portfolio Manager are met for the LBS U and LBS V programs.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Documentation: Develop essential program documentation, including Program Management, Supplier Management, and Risk Management Plans, in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Presentations: Design and create compelling PowerPoint slides for a variety of internal and external meetings.
• Scheduling: Review the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to identify and address discrepancies in logic, working closely with technical teams.
• Risk Management: Actively participate in identifying new risks to the program.
• Financial Support: Assist Project Managers in managing the program’s cost baseline and aid in defining strategies for financial performance and budget control.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be an actively enrolled college student, completing either their junior or senior year of college.
• Experience: Possess 1+ years of experience managing programs or teams, with a preference for individuals who have worked with a hardware production team.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer interaction and presentation skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Must be a US Citizen and a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate at own expense.
• Bonus: Experience or working knowledge in risk identification, analysis, and management techniques; subcontract management, including creating Statements of Work (SOW) and managing technical, schedule, and budget aspects; and proposal management, including identifying key partners and planning/writing proposal responses.
