Description: Kansas City Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern – 2026

This internship offers hands-on experience working with leading companies on complex business problems. Interns collaborate on client solutions and develop skills across various industries, enhancing technical capabilities and leadership qualities. The program is designed to be impactful and provide foundational learning.

Key aspects of the internship include:

Exposure to three solution segments:
Business Process Audit and Advisory: Focusing on process improvement, risk mitigation, and best practices enhancement.
Technology Audit and Advisory: Evaluating information asset protection through security protocols, development processes, and data availability assessments.
Internal Audit Strategy and Technology Enablement: Developing and deploying technical solutions to increase audit effectiveness and efficiency using technologies like Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power Platform, MS SQL, Python, and R.
Award-winning onboarding: Including a live-virtual experience (“Liftoff with Protiviti”) and an experiential learning course (“The Intern Challenge”).
Mentorship and guidance: Interns receive hands-on training, interact with leaders, and have access to talent managers and advisors.
Professional development opportunities: Including participation in committees, employee network groups, and social/networking activities.
Preview of Foundations: A full-time career opportunity program focusing on business operations, consulting, data, relationship building, technology, and innovation.

Responsibilities:** Interns will contribute to client engagements, applying critical thinking, analytical skills, and data analysis techniques. Specific tasks will vary depending on the assigned project and solution segment.

Currently pursuings:**

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields (within one year of graduation).
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and innovation.
• Foundational knowledge of core business processes.
• Strong interest in internal audit processes and emerging technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ideally data visualization tools. Understanding of software development best practices is a plus, as is experience with advanced analytics and automation technologies.

Compensation: hourly rate below $28/hr, plus benefits including paid holidays, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, Matching Gifts Program, and various discounts.
