Your Opportunity: Junior Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in a full-time, on-site capacity in Pasadena, CA. Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Operations Management: Actively assist in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations, ensuring seamless workflow, efficiency, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold and consistently deliver exceptional food quality, taste, and presentation that aligns with DELUXE 1717 & ONIL CHIBAS EVENTS’ renowned standards.
  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and mentor culinary staff, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to foster a highly motivated and skilled team.
  • Culinary Execution: Expertly prepare and cook a diverse range of exquisite dishes, demonstrating a mastery of various cooking techniques and culinary principles.
  • Menu Development Support: Collaborate closely with senior chefs in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas, seasonal insights, and culinary expertise.
  • Kitchen Standards: Maintain impeccable kitchen cleanliness, organization, and tidiness across all stations, ensuring a pristine working environment.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Rigorously monitor and enforce all food safety protocols, health regulations, and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen to ensure guest and staff well-being.
  • Inventory & Cost Control: Assist in managing inventory, tracking supplies, minimizing waste, and optimizing food preparation processes to ensure both quality control and cost-effectiveness.
  • Staff Training & Development: Aid in the ongoing training and development of kitchen staff, ensuring consistent performance, adherence to recipes, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Culinary Mastery: Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of cooking techniques, a strong foundation in recipe development, and meticulous kitchen organization skills.
  • Leadership Potential: Proven ability to supervise kitchen staff, assist in effective training programs, and manage workflow efficiently within a busy kitchen environment.
  • Safety & Hygiene Champion: In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP principles preferred) and an unwavering commitment to maintaining pristine kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Organizational Acumen: Strong capabilities in time management, superior organizational skills, and an exceptional attention to detail in all culinary and administrative tasks.
