Junior Financial Analyst Supporting the USMS | FSA

What You’ll Actually Do
• Quality Control: Provides quality control and reconciliation for computer databases that contain financial and compliance records.
• Compliance Oversight: Checks accounting practices to ensure they comply with Federal laws, regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices (GAP), and relevant OMB circulars.
• Financial Statement Analysis: Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements for compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures, making recommendations for corrective actions on improper or illegal expenditures.
• Program Efficiency Evaluation: Evaluates the logistics and operations of audit and certification programs to maximize efficiencies and streamline program reviews.
• Budget Support: Creates draft budget requests to support office operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED with at least four years of related experience. General knowledge of financial statements is required.
• Experience: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with other common software applications and databases, including financial systems.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication, meticulous attention to detail with data entry, proven commitment to customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
