This role is a key part of the environmental team, primarily supporting the stormwater compliance program, and contributes to the quality of the environment and the resilience of communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sample: Collect environmental samples in the field, preparing and preserving them for delivery to analytical laboratories.
• Inspect: Plan and conduct site inspections at client facilities, performing stormwater inspection/sampling activities and environmental compliance reviews.
• Report: Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting site conditions, work activities, and compliance with permit requirements for review by the Regional Lead.
• Advise: Identify and report non-compliance issues found in the field, making recommendations for improvements to clients and managers.
• Manage: Execute various work scopes, manage personal time, and adhere to project schedules and budgets, working both independently and as part of a team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a core science (geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, environmental science, or a related area. Entry-level candidates with appropriate degrees and classroom backgrounds will be considered.
• Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience. Experience in stormwater compliance inspection/sampling is desirable.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, and SharePoint Online; ability to work independently in the field in all types of weather conditions; current valid Driver’s License.
• Bonus: Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP), Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioner (QiSP), Certified Professional in Industrial Stormwater Management (CPISM), Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ), Certified Stormwater Inspector, Industrial Stormwater Inspector, NPDES Permit Inspector Training, 40-hour OSHA-HAZWOPER training, or asbestos certification.
