Intern, Security & Cloud Engineering | Lila Sciences

What You’ll Actually Do
• IT & End-User Support: Provide technical assistance to employees, handling hardware, software, and network issues, while assisting with onboarding/offboarding tasks and maintaining IT asset inventory.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Automation: Support the deployment and maintenance of cloud services, assist with building infrastructure as code, monitor cloud performance, and develop AI-powered agents to automate IT and security workflows.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance: Monitor and respond to security alerts, assist with incident investigations, support vulnerability scanning, and aid in compliance activities and strengthening endpoint and identity security.
• Project Support: Participate in cross-functional initiatives involving cloud migrations or tool integrations, and contribute to technical documentation for cloud environments, security runbooks, and AI agent workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related degree program.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required for this role.
• Skills: Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), networking concepts (IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls), and cybersecurity fundamentals (authentication, encryption, phishing prevention). Basic programming or scripting skills, with Python preferred. Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to learn new technologies, coupled with effective communication, collaboration, and documentation habits.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud-native tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, serverless functions), familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi), exposure to cybersecurity tools like SIEMs or vulnerability scanners, knowledge of AI agent frameworks, or previous internship, co-op, or significant project experience in cloud or security engineering.
