Investment Accounting Intern – Summer 2027 | Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc.

• Mission: Assist the Investment Accounting team by performing key daily and monthly investment activities, supporting coordination efforts, and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Tech Stack: Clearwater, Workday

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitoring: Monitor daily investment activity within the investment accounting tool, Clearwater.
• Reporting: Monitor month-to-date investment activity within Clearwater and corresponding market activity, assisting in summarizing information for the weekly portfolio overview.
• Reconciliation: Prepare monthly investment reconciliations, including custodian, Clearwater, and Workday reconciliations.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post monthly investment journal entries on a GAAP and statutory basis for six insurance companies.
• Coordination: Assist in the coordination amongst various banks and state insurance departments for necessary investment transactions and account maintenance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current junior or senior actively working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Finance, with strong academic performance and a basic understanding of accounting and finance principles, including completion of introductory courses.
• Experience: Ability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during the summer program.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, high level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility, coupled with motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn.
• Bonus: Interested in learning more about and working in the property & casualty insurance market; CPA pursuing preferred.
