Event Planning, Social Media and Public Relations Intern | C • L • E Cotton Candy
The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship role at C • L • E Cotton Candy, a locally owned and operated gourmet cotton candy company based in Solon, OH, serving Northeast Ohio. Owned by Rebecca Adele PR & Events, the company is continually expanding its reach and offerings. This role is crucial for an intern looking to gain hands-on experience in running a small business, from event planning and execution to comprehensive social media and public relations strategies, while contributing directly to the company’s growth and brand presence.

• Mission: To support business operations, marketing, and event execution for a gourmet cotton candy company through content creation, event logistics, and public outreach.
• Tech Stack: Canva, Splice, Boomerang, TikTok, Dropbox
What You’ll Actually Do
• Social Media Management: Create weekly social media plans for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, schedule posts, and manage content on Dropbox, including live event updates.
• Content Creation: Plan, stage, design, shoot, and edit photos and videos for new flavors and marketing campaigns, acting as a creative director for visual content.
• Public Relations & Marketing: Develop and write eblasts, newsletters, event and new product promotions, and quarterly press releases to enhance brand visibility and media attention.
• Event & Order Preparation: Work in the studio 1-2 times a week to pre-spin pre-packaged cotton candy, prepare online and retail location orders, and assist with event logistics.
• Event Execution: Work 1-3 weekend events per week on average, including parties, weddings, art shows, festivals, and farmer’s markets, handling the booth, collecting payments, and capturing event content.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing studies in event planning, communications, social media, public relations, entrepreneurship, or business, located in the Cleveland/Akron/Northeast Ohio/Canton area.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in event execution, retail operations, and social media engagement. Must be outgoing and comfortable working in a retail/sales environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities to balance remote work, studio tasks, and weekend events. Creativity in content development (photos, videos), proficiency in using or willingness to learn platforms like Canva, Splice, Boomerang, and TikTok, and effective communication skills.
• Bonus: A genuine enthusiasm for event planning and participation, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a proactive approach to learning and contributing to a growing business.
