Job Description: Internal Audit Intern

This is a full-time, temporary position (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday) designed to provide practical experience in internal auditing. The Internal Audit Intern will be responsible for completing assigned projects, performing audit procedures, and supporting the internal audit team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform audit procedures while gathering & documenting sufficient evidence to support audit conclusions.
• Perform audit fieldwork as requested on internal audit tasks that require tact, discretion and confidentiality.
• Learn internal software systems and reporting capabilities.
• Interact with others in the department on a day-to-day basis to complete projects.
• Participate in scheduled meetings.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program.
Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan and execute projects with quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a team environment, promoting a positive attitude.
Strong ability in the CoreFirst Bank & Trust Competencies: Customer Focus, Compliance, Ethics, Perseverance, and Time Management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Interpersonal Skills:

The position requires a significant level of trust and exposure to sensitive and confidential information. Diplomacy, courtesy, and tact are essential, along with the ability to foster sound professional relationships with management.

Physical Requirements:

The role involves a combination of constant sitting, constant hand motion, and occasional standing/walking. The employee will regularly talk and listen to members and other employees.

• Travel is primarily local during the business day.
