The Tone:
This is an internship at the American Task Force on Lebanon, located in Washington, D.C. The American Task Force on Lebanon is a non-sectarian 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to strengthening a robust U.S.-Lebanon relationship through policy and advocacy. This role is crucial for supporting the organization’s mission by contributing to data management, content creation, and legislative tracking. Interns have the opportunity to directly engage in U.S. foreign policy and U.S.-Lebanon relations, making a tangible impact on the organization’s advocacy efforts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Information Management: Compile, organize, and maintain data, internal records, and databases to support organizational efficiency.
• Communications Support: Draft engaging newsletters, social media posts, and press releases, and manage social media content and engagement using tools like Canva.
• Policy Research: Monitor and analyze developments in U.S. foreign policy, Lebanon, and the Middle East, including tracking relevant Congressional legislation.
• Event & Meeting Logistics: Assist with planning and executing the Annual Dinner, coordinating meetings with government officials, and summarizing congressional hearings and briefings.
• Office Administration: Provide essential support for smooth office functioning, handling general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate in International Relations/Affairs, Political Science, Government, or Middle Eastern Studies.
• Experience: Must be based in the Washington, D.C. area for the duration of the internship and able to work at ATFL’s office at least twice a week, including Wednesdays, for a minimum of 15 hours per week for three months.
• Skills: Familiarity with U.S. foreign policy, Lebanon, and the Middle East.
• Bonus: Highly organized and detail-oriented (Program and Operations Intern); Proficient in social media and basic graphic design skills (Communications Intern); Basic knowledge of the legislative and executive branches of government (Government Affairs Intern).
