2026 Fall Financial Strategy Intern | Ephemeris Net
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Ephemeris Net, located in El Segundo, CA or Oakland, CA. Ephemeris Net is building the foundational networking layer to extend the internet into space, creating infrastructure for a space internet beyond bent pipe. This role is crucial because getting the business model, financial projections, and commercial positioning right is as vital as the technology itself. You will deliver work that directly supports the company’s growth and strategic decisions in a rapidly evolving industry.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $70400 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Head of Government Programs & Finance, who will serve as your primary mentor.
• Mission: This person will build financial strategy to drive business growth, support capital raising, and win customers.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Google Sheets
What You’ll Actually Do
• Fundraising Support: Explore and analyze non-dilutive and hybrid financing instruments relevant to the company’s stage and sector.
• Financial Modeling: Build or refine financial models for venture capital fundraising, encompassing unit economics, revenue projections, and scenario analysis.
• Market Strategy: Conduct market mapping and competitive analysis to identify target customer segments and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Commercial Pricing: Develop pricing models and business case analyses for new product offerings or customer engagements, including rate and volume/cost modeling.
• Supply Chain Negotiation: Negotiate procurement deals and audit supplier relationships to de-risk programs and ensure financial success.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or masters degree in business, finance, engineering, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
• Experience: Comfortable building financial models, working with data, and structuring ambiguous problems.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently on scoped projects; Adaptability to shifting priorities in a startup environment; Must be a US person (15 CFR 772.1).
• Bonus: Prior experience in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance; Experience in the aerospace, defense, or space industry; Familiarity with venture capital fundraising processes and investor relations; Experience with market research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning.
