Finance Operations Intern | Emerson

This is a Summer 2027 internship at Emerson, located in Round Rock, Texas. What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Rate Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated models used to accurately calculate fully burdened cost rates.
• Budget Analysis: Assist in the comprehensive preparation and detailed analysis of budgets across a variety of functional areas, providing insights into financial performance.
• Audit Support: Provide crucial support to the finance team during external audit activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial records.
• Financial Projects: Contribute significantly to special projects, specifically those involving deferred revenue recognition and complex financial reporting requirements.
• Process Optimization: Identify tangible opportunities for process improvements and actively assist in developing and implementing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to enhance operational efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. You should be someone who turns ideas into action, consistently works toward achieving results, and seeks opportunities to learn by researching new approaches and testing innovative solutions.
• Experience: Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential. You must possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective written and verbal communication abilities. The role requires the capacity to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Bonus: Entering junior or senior year of undergraduate studies is preferred, as is coursework in GAAP, accounting principles, financial reporting, or related subjects. Previous internship, co-op, project, leadership, or work experience in a professional environment is beneficial. An interest in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and business operations, along with experience using data analysis tools, dashboards, or reporting platforms, will set you apart.
