The Tone:
This is an Audit Intern Summer 2028 internship at Forvis Mazars US, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With over 7,000 team members, the firm delivers assurance, tax, and consulting services to clients in all 50 states and internationally, guided by a legacy spanning more than 100 years. This internship offers valuable experience on client engagements, mirroring those assigned to entry-level associates, to help individuals decide on a career path in audit, tax, or public accounting. Interns will gain exposure to a variety of industries, test their technical knowledge, and learn from senior staff and management personnel.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Testing: Complete audit testing on financial statement accounts such as cash, accounts payable, or fixed assets.
• Account Reconciliation: Work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
• Report Drafting: Help draft management letter comments and the audit report.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level college student pursuing a degree that will lead to CPA Exam eligibility. Satisfactory academic performance is expected in major-related coursework, and candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: Demonstrated solid technical accounting knowledge, likely from academic studies.
• Skills: Effective time management; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently; a proactive problem-solving attitude; willingness to take initiative; close attention to detail; ability to perform effectively under pressure and against deadlines. Additionally, reliable transportation to and from the assigned office is required, along with the ability to attend off-site meetings and events in person.
• Bonus: Preferred strong computer skills, specifically including the Microsoft Office suite.
